About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The Annals of the Chrysene Formalism is an AI-augmented peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to developing the Chrysene Formalism as a new field of pure mathematics, while advancing its foundational role in theoretical biogenesis and its applications across multidisciplinary science and engineering. Anchored in the discrete symmetries and empirically grounded geometries of the chrysene molecular architecture, the journal explores how base-four topological and combinatorial configurations translate into non-commutative algebraic, geometric, and dynamical invariants.
In pure mathematics, we publish research encompassing discrete non-commutative manifolds, operator algebras, algebraic combinatorics, optimal transport via discrete Dirac measures, dynamical systems, and the mathematical resolution of metric singularities. Alongside pure theory, a major focus of the journal is theoretical and chemical biogenesis—establishing rigorous mathematical and physicochemical models for prebiotic reaction-transport networks, membrane mechanics, photoentrained cycles, and self-maintaining molecular lineages.
Our scope further extends to multidisciplinary and applied topological engineering, welcoming work that deploys the axioms and invariants of the Chrysene Formalism across diverse fields, including healthcare systems, molecular therapeutics, coherent quantum computation, cryptographic containment, theoretical physics, and global financial network stability.
Peer Review Policy
The Annals of the Chrysene Formalism employs an AI-augmented peer-review and executable certification process designed to support rigorous evaluation of multidisciplinary work spanning pure and applied mathematics, chemistry, biogenesis, systems engineering, molecular science, physics, and related applications. Artificial intelligence and formal verification tools are used to augment, rather than replace, human scholarly judgment. Human editorial and peer-review oversight remains involved throughout the review process and is responsible for the final evaluation and publication decision.
The depth and structure of review depend upon the nature of the manuscript and evolve as the journal's review methodology develops. At a minimum, technical papers undergo AI-augmented mathematical consistency review, including examination of definitions, axioms, logical dependencies, theorem strength, proofs, object typing, domains and codomains, internal consistency, and the distinction between assumptions, proved results, realization hypotheses, and deferred claims.
Multi-Stage Orthogonal Review
For foundational papers that introduce, modify, or substantially extend the Chrysene Formalism, the journal employs a multi-stage orthogonal review architecture in which each stage interrogates a distinct dimension of validity:
- Mathematics Review — evaluating mathematical correctness, logical consistency, proof validity, non-circularity, and appropriate theorem strength;
- Concordance Review — evaluating whether the manuscript remains consistent with the established axiomatic, molecular, and conceptual architecture of the Chrysene Formalism;
- Chemistry or Domain Review — evaluating whether molecular, biological, or other physical and applied interpretations are scientifically admissible and appropriately qualified;
- Targeted Verification — confirming that substantive corrections requested during review have been properly implemented without introducing new inconsistencies; and
- Meta-Review — synthesizing the completed review and certification record and determining whether any unresolved issue remains material to publication.
Executable Certification: Verification Code and Machine-Checked Proof (Lean 4)
To complement judgment-based review with checkable mechanical verification, qualifying manuscripts undergo an accretive certification stage placed between Targeted Verification and Meta-Review. Whereas traditional and AI-assisted review stages evaluate a manuscript by forming an expert judgment, executable certification layers operate without opinion and fail by halting:
- Verification-Code Dossier — Quantitative claims and derived numerical expressions are independently recomputed from the manuscript's definitions by a self-contained asserting program. Rather than merely printing output tables for visual inspection, the harness enforces explicit assertions against stated tolerances, undergoes mutation-sensitivity testing against perturbations of the defining data, and halts with a non-zero exit status if any discrepancy occurs.
- Formal-Proof Dossier (Lean 4) — Finite, combinatorial, and inductive mathematical claims are formalized and machine-checked in the Lean 4 theorem prover. Proofs are type-checked directly by the Lean 4 kernel and subjected to a mandatory axiom audit (
#print axioms) to ensure that all certified theorems rest exclusively on standard foundational axioms with no unproved assumptions (sorryAx).
Where a certification artifact is prepared with the assistance of a generative system, it is audited by an independent checking system prior to meta-review, and its verbatim execution log, toolchain version, mutation-test results, and byte-identical source code are bound into the dossier.
Concordance and Resolution of Disagreement
Concordance is of particular importance to the journal. The Chrysene Formalism is intended to develop through increasingly sophisticated mathematics while remaining anchored to its underlying molecular and axiomatic foundation. Accordingly, a mathematically valid manuscript may still require revision if its abstractions have drifted from the framework it claims to extend. Human peer review and editorial judgment play an especially important role in evaluating this aspect of the work.
Reviewer disagreement is not resolved solely by averaging scores or by majority vote. Where reviewers or verification layers identify different potential defects, the journal evaluates the underlying criticisms against the manuscript, requires revision where appropriate, and returns important corrections for subsequent verification. Earlier review comments are treated as records of the manuscript state reviewed and are not automatically applied to later versions after the relevant issue has been corrected.
Published Audit Trail and Executable Artifacts
To replace editorial testimony with artifacts the reader can independently inspect and execute, the journal publishes an auditable record alongside qualifying articles—accessible directly from the article landing page as dedicated REVIEW HISTORY, VERIFICATION CODE, and FORMAL PROOF dossiers. Review procedures may be adapted to the subject matter of individual submissions, but the governing principle remains constant: AI and machine-checked certification expand the depth, breadth, and mechanical reliability of peer review; human scholarly judgment remains responsible for concordance, interpretation, and the final editorial decision.
